Uh ohhh. Did you eat it? Probably put all your stuff in a chest then go die with only the poisonous potato in your inventory, so you'll lose it. Or better put the potato in an empty chest then put it far away, then break the chest. The things inside it come out. If you go near it you'll get it back, but if you let it be for some time it'll disappear.

I don't think you can throw anything else than eggs, the zombies aren't able to eat, and even if you get it out of your inventory it'll disappear in some time.
